SPACIOGRAPH - AN INFORMATION VISUALISATION
Situation:
As a space enthusiast and data visualisation enthusiast, I embarked on a journey to create a captivating addition to my portfolio. Inspired by humanity's exploration of the cosmos, I sought to bring the data from the United Nations Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space to life in an interactive and meaningful way.

Task:
My mission was clear: to craft a visualisation that not only showcased the raw numbers but also captured the imagination of viewers. I aimed to provide an experience that would allow users to feel a sense of wonder as they explored the history of human-made objects venturing into the unknown reaches of space.

Action:
1. Embarking on the Cosmic Data Quest: Armed with the dataset from the United Nations Register, I delved into the depths of space data, extracting key insights and trends. Each data point felt like a star waiting to be mapped in the vastness of the universe.
2. Designing the Celestial Interface: Drawing inspiration from the cosmos itself, I designed an interface that echoed the grandeur of space. The visualisation took shape as a constellation of interactive elements, inviting users on a celestial journey through decades of space exploration.
3. Infusing Humanity into the Data: Understanding that behind every launch there are countless human stories of ingenuity and exploration, I sought to infuse a human touch into the visualisation. Through subtle animations and design elements, I aimed to convey the human spirit of curiosity and discovery that drives our exploration of the cosmos.
4. Empowering Users to Explore the Cosmos: I empowered users to take control of their cosmic voyage, providing interactive filters and toggles that allowed them to tailor their exploration to their interests. Whether they wanted to focus on active satellites, defunct spacecraft, or missions to the Moon and Mars, the interface offered a personalized journey through space history.

Result:
The culmination of my efforts is a testament to the human spirit of exploration and discovery. Through this project, I hope to inspire others to look up at the stars with wonder and curiosity, knowing that each satellite, probe, and rover represents a small piece of humanity's quest to unravel the mysteries of the universe. In bringing together data and design, I aimed not only to inform but also to ignite a sense of awe and appreciation for the incredible achievements of space exploration.
